The Samsung Lions snap a two-game losing streak with a come-from-behind win.

Samsung improved its record to 40-1 with a 6-4 win in the 10th game of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League against the Doosan Bears at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul on Monday.

On the mound, starting pitcher Won Tae-in got off to a quality start with six innings of five hits (two home runs), two walks, four strikeouts and three runs. He left the game with the loss on the line, but the bats came through in the late innings to save the day.

The bullpen also stepped up. Woo Kyu-min closed out the seventh inning with one hitless inning, followed by Lee Jae-ik and Kim Tae-hoon, who pitched ⅔ and ⅓ innings of scoreless relief, respectively. Closer Oh Seung-hwan gave up back-to-back singles to Kim Jae-hwan and Heo Kyung-min to put runners on second and third, but minimized the damage to earn his 16th save of the season. His final score was one run on two hits in one inning.

At the plate, Koo Ja-rook and Jose Pirela, the core of the team, led the offense with back-to-back 2-hit games, including a home run. Kim Dong-jin also went 2-for-4 with a home run and a run scored, while table-setters Kim Hyun-jun and Kim Sung-yoon did their part with a combined 먹튀검증 1-for-5. Ryu Ji-hyuk, who did not have a hit, went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, putting a smile on his commander's face with a crucial stolen base and run in the top of the ninth.

"Won Tae-in fulfilled his role as a starter and was able to turn the tide of the game in the second half," said Samsung coach Park Jin-man after the game. "In the batting lineup, we had a frustrating flow in the first half of the game in terms of the opponent's starting lineup, but we were able to focus in the second half and win the game to end the losing streak," he said.

"Our center fielder, Pirela, has been hitting well, so I'm looking forward to his future," Park said. "Finally, I think Ryu Ji-hyuk's stolen base in the ninth inning decided the game. I would like to praise both his reading of the game and his boldness."

Samsung will try to win the series with David Buchanan starting on the 10th. However, it is unclear if the game will be played due to the impact of Typhoon No. 6, Kanun.
